Frequently Asked Questions.

Why can't I play an event until I attend a SAJGA clinic?

In order to enjoy the game of golf a certain bit of knowledge on the rules & etiquette of golf is required. This helps your game and makes events more enjoyable for you and your playing partners/opponents. We offer rules & etiquette clinics every three months for new members. After you complete this clinic you're on your way to playing with SAJGA.

When is the next SAJGA event?

Our schedule is available on this site:

SAJGA Tournaments

How do I sign up for tournaments?

Sign up for tournaments by sending an entry slip and a  check (made out to SAJGA) to:

SAJGA

PO BOX 851

VAIL  AZ  85641-0851

Sign up deadline is normally one week prior to an event.  Please note that some events fill up prior to the deadline so we recommend you sign up early.

What happens if I fail to show up for an event I'm registered for?

If you fail to show up for a tournament/clinic, or cancel after the sign-up deadline, no refund will be given.  Two no-shows in a row may result in disqualification from the next event.  Refunds will be issued if we cancel a tournament (weather, etc).

Do I need my own clubs to join?

No! Through the generosity of various individuals we have starter clubs available free of charge. After you discover what a wonderful game golf is, we can direct you to opportunities to purchase your own set.

Why can't I wear jeans as part of the uniform?

Part of the mission of our club is to start you off right learning about golf. Many courses have certain dress codes. Jeans are not allowed. Usually jeans have become a favorite pair of pants. They wear out, become frayed and faded and therefore just don't look neat. Jeans also are not very comfortable when it comes to all that walking, swinging, and bending.
