Hitting the Wrong Ball

In a Stroke Play Tournament...

Savanna teed off on a par five hole and went down the fairway to find her drive. She found a ball in the fairway and hit it. She then discovered that she had hit the other girl's ball. What is the penalty?

The penalty for hitting the wrong ball is two strokes. Savanna must go back and play her original ball from where she drove it. She will be hitting her fourth shot. If she did not follow that procedure and teed off on the next hole, she would be disqualified from the tournament.

Note: You should use a permanent magic marker and mark your balls before the tournament, so that you can identify your balls. Be sure to know which ball you are using when you play, and be sure to identify your ball before you hit it.
