Signing an Incorrect Scorecard

In a Stroke Play Tournament...

In the 1968 Masters championship, Roberto DeVicenzo from Argentina signed his scorecard with a 4 on hole seventeen, when he actually scored a 3. Because he signed the card, the score of 4 was counted, and the mistake cost him the championship. Note that if you sign a scorecard with a score lower than the actual score, you will be disqualified from the tournament. Be sure that you are entering you scores correctly, and that they add up to the correct score, before you sign your card and hand it in to the scorekeepers.
